Month of Remembrance

Share in our seminary tradition this All Souls Day

The Feast of All Souls reminds us to pray for those we have lost. Remember your dearly departed loved ones on the Feast of All Souls by including them in our seminary Book of Remembrance.

As Catholics, the month of November brings us an opportunity to pray for and cherish our loved ones who have gone before us and whom we commend in the love of Jesus Christ.

Here at Saint John's Seminary, we continue our tradition of praying for the repose of the faithful departed. As the season of autumn unfolds, we invite you to submit the names of your departed loved ones either by filling out the form below or mailing their names to the Seminary at the address below.

Their names will be inscribed in the Book of Remembrance, which will be placed in our seminary chapel. It is our joy to remember these souls at Mass, during morning and evening prayer, and at daily Eucharistic Adoration.

Please consider making a donation to Saint John's Seminary in memory of a loved one.

Prayer for the Dead

Let us pray.
All-powerful and merciful God,
we commend to you N., your servant.
In your mercy and love,
blot out the sins he/she has committed
through human weakness.
In this world he/she has died:
let him/her live with you forever.
Through Christ our Lord.
R/. Amen.

V/. Eternal rest grant unto him/her, O Lord.
R/. And let perpetual light shine upon him/her.
V/. May he/she rest in peace.
R/. Amen.
V/. May his/her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
R/. Amen.
