We were pleased to welcome back members of the Class of 2021 for a special mass with our seminary community on the evening of October 27th.
In his homily, Fr. Fernando Ayala shared experiences from his priesthood to show the men of Saint John's how the greatest joy of the priesthood is to unite our daily work to the Lord's Cross, which, quoting Fr. Briody, he called "the one perfect sacrifice of charity."
Fr. Steve Lewis, the main celebrant who was instrumental in revamping the music program in his last few years at Saint John's attributes his ability to chant the mass so beautifully to his formation here.
Mr. Alex Charow, reflected, "The return of the alumni is always a special day. For those of us still in formation, it is really edifying to see the gift of the priesthood lived out so joyfully in men we were in formation with, men we are friends with. It renews in us the hope that one day we will receive the grace of Holy Orders."
View Photo AlbumSaint John's Seminary has been forming men who aspire to be priests since 1884. Our mission, to serve the Catholic Church in New England and beyond, continues with fervor to this day. Saint John's exists to form disciples who serve Christ and His Church in the modern world as priests and lay ministers. This critical mission could not be possible without the support of the broader Saint John's Seminary community of donors, alumni, and friends.
