On November 16, 2025, Saint John’s Seminary celebrated the installation of new acolytes in a beautiful liturgy led by Bishop Uglietto, assisted by Dcn. David Cataline.
Bishop Uglietto’s homily drew heavily from Scripture, reflecting on the deep hunger in every human heart and how only God can satisfy it. He recalled a childhood memory of his grandmother tapping on a church window, reminding him to pray, a poignant image of longing and devotion. Drawing from the day’s readings and the psalms of the Liturgy of the Hours, he encouraged the newly installed acolytes to see the Eucharist as “food for the journey,” a nourishment that strengthens their ministry and points others to Christ.
“The Cross shows us how much God loves us,” the bishop reminded the men, inviting them to offer themselves daily to Christ, share in the one body of the Church, and embrace a ministry of service and healing. This installation was more than a rite of passage, it was a call to live fully in Christ’s love and reflect that love to all they serve.
