Season 3 of the Saint John’s Seminary Podcast Is Now Live

Season 3 of the Saint John’s Seminary Podcast is now live, beginning with a special two-part conversation with our new rector, Bishop Robert Reed.

Hosted by Col. Mike Manning, these opening episodes introduce listeners to Bishop Reed’s personal story, his journey to the priesthood, and his vision for the future of Saint John’s Seminary.

Getting to Know Our New Rector

In the first episode, Bishop Reed reflects on the experiences that first opened his heart to a vocation to the priesthood, including the influence of his family, parish life, and the mentors who helped shape his journey.

He also shares his perspective on returning to Saint John’s Seminary as rector and offers a glimpse into the spiritual foundation and pastoral vision he brings to the work of priestly formation.

Looking Ahead at Saint John’s Seminary

In the second episode, Bishop Reed looks toward the road ahead for Saint John’s and the work of forming priests for the Church.

He discusses his priorities for the formation of seminarians, emphasizing their prayer, spiritual direction, sacramental life, fraternity, and personal discernment of their vocation. He also looks beyond the seminary walls, sharing his hopes for deeper relationships with parishes, greater opportunities for lay Catholics to experience the seminary, and new ways to share the mission of Saint John’s with the wider Church.

Together, these first two episodes offer listeners an introduction to Bishop Reed not only as the new rector of Saint John’s Seminary, but also as a priest and bishop whose own vocation has been shaped by faith, community, and a desire to serve the Church.
